Dead to the law
April 15, 2008
Romans 7:4 “Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.”
I was raised in a church that was very legalistic. The law was more important than the Gospel. I was told that the “Law points to Jesus and Jesus points to the Law”. The church was rife with the spirit of Religion.
I was told from early childhood that we must keep the Law. All 10 Commandments of it! Keeping the law would result in a closer walk with God. We needed to ask for forgiveness from our sins daily.
Of course, the bible itself does not have enough laws, so we even had our own prophetess who came up with new rules. No meat. No spices. No theaters. No dancing. No wigs. She denied the deity of Christ at one time. She prophesied the second coming of Christ several times (wrong on every account). Our prophetess even instructed wives “to seek to divert his mind from the gratification of lustful passions to high and spiritual themes by dwelling upon interesting spiritual subjects“. Satanic doctrines indeed.
Does the SDA church consider Ellen White the infallible interpreter of the Scripture? Will one person from the SDA religion honestly answer that? I think not. I can answer it, they do. I hear objections from my friends and family in that religion. Okay, think about it then. I know you will say “We don’t hold her above the bible”. But you do!!! If EGW writes something that disagrees with scripture you believe what she says. “She never contradicts scripture!” I hear you say. Of course she does. Her writings are rife with contradictions and inaccuracies. She even contradicts herself.
Now I can hear my former brothers saying that the bible has contradictions also. How dare you! Instead of examining your false prophetess you would blaspheme God? One single minute spent searching for sites describing the false teachings and predictions of EGW would yield pages and pages in a search engine. Do you think that I WANT her to be a false prophetess? No! SDA’s around the planet have become disenchanted with EGW and the religion. It’s not just me. The SDA religion was born out of ignorance of the scriptures and the devil has used it to perpetuate a lie. A greater punishment is reserved for those who lead others astray.
Are you listening leaders of the SDA church? Can anyone from your religion prove the Sanctuary Doctrine? No! The leaders of the church have admitted that it doesn’t stand up to scriptural truth. Bible interprets Bible. Not Ellen White interprets Bible. Please explain 1 John 3:6 “Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.” Don’t reject the Truth just because you want to be “right”. Please.
Another lie the SDA church teaches is that man was not made in Gods triune image. They teach that we consist only of flesh and soul (our conscious mind) . What happened to the spirit? It is a lie from the devil that we do not have a spirit. Like it or not, you do have a spirit, and if you haven’t been born again then you have a sinful spirit and do not know the saving grace of Jesus.
I wish I had discovered Christ before I did. Christ was not in that church. I look back at my experiences in that church and realize how spiritually dead they are. Today I watched one of their most revered pastors on TV, Doug Bachelor. He is spiritually dead. No life.
It makes me sad. I see my family who is still in that cult and I wish they could be in my place looking in. They would be shocked at what they see! The condemnation and blindness they would see! I know what they think of me, that I have been blinded to the truth by Satan. Deceived they say.
No, I am for the first time in 46 years reading the Bible literally and in context. God does not instruct us to keep his 10 Commandments any more than we are required to keep the Feast Days or Jubilee Year. Hell is eternal damnation, we are not consumed and then it’s over.
Christ died once for all. As he is, so are we. In Christ I am righteous, justified and sanctified. I don’t have to confess my sins to him daily, for as a believer I am dead to sin that I may be married to another. A man cannot serve two masters. Those who live by the law will be judged by the law. I am living in His Love and Grace and that is all I need.
Shalom
