Surely He has borne our griefs…

April 12, 2009

Isaiah 53:4 “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows;”

700 years before Christ was born the prophet Isaiah prophecied of Christ and His work for our salvation.

The English translators didn’t do this verse much justice though.  ”Griefs”  litterally means sicknesses and “sorrows” means pains.   Christs completed work on the cross not only provided for our eternal salvation but also for our physical healing and health.

This verse begins with “Surely”, so we can be confidant that He bore our sickness, disease and pain.

Shalom
